Big Day Out...in Betz!

So here's a few pictures from my last couple days around Betz and our next town where really, all the action is:

Que c'est belle!

Here is the last building Jeanne d'Arc occupied, the Orléans Mansion built in the 15th Century. Rumour has it she spent her last night here before being captured in Compiègne; it is situated dans la Rue Jeanne d'Arc/Rue de la Boucherie!

.....a view from my backyard of, well, really most of the town of Betz! The long house (not the longhouse, that's Canadian speak!) at the bottom left (where you see the little blue shed) is our farm.

...and this is facing away from the house, into our 'backyard'.

I tried to capture the castle, but cameras really don't do the real world justice sometimes. I could see in plain detail and it was much bigger, however......for you mom, that's a picture, and that's as close as I can get! This is from behind our house though, it really is quite pretty!

Here is a view down the main street of Betz....then you arrive au centre du village where you continue left to pass thru on to Crépy....and that's turning aound looking back up the street (towards the first photo). Big day out eh?! Woooo!

One last photo of the gates to the castle from further up on the main road (probably just the garage or servants quarters - though wayy far away from the castle itself; the property is HUUUGE)....every fence and gate is too high obviously, to keep the vagrants like myself, the minions, the common folk...from peering in and loitering about...you know how us common folk can be.....'specially moi...
